Challenge

As COVID-19 hit, the Department of European & International Studies at a Russell Group University faced the daunting task of rapidly transitioning all courses to a fully online format.

Faculty members needed to reimagine their curricula for effective online delivery via the Moodle-based LMS, while maintaining the high level of engagement crucial for political and international studies.

Solution

Needs assessment workshops with faculty to understand their unique challenges and teaching styles.

Customised framework for translating in-person lectures and seminars into engaging online modules.

Analysis and implementation on appropriate educational technologies to enhance online teaching and learning experiences.

Training sessions on effective online pedagogy and digital tool integration.

Process

  • Initial department-wide needs assessment and technology audit

  • I project managed the transition, ensuring a smooth shift to online learning that maintained academic rigour while enhancing student engagement
